This work was a very personal project. The idea was to portray self-awareness. The bottom figure in her passive repose was painted before the pandemia. After a long quarantined pause that inevitably forced the whole world to reflect and look inside themselves, I was able to return and complete the idea with the figure intended to be a sort of astral body floating above. The figure that came in the aftermath takes an active posture and is looking forward, to the future. This was not my original idea, but with all of the self-isolation of our current situation I realized that it is vital for me to be able to both self-reflect and look to the future at the same time. They are not separate and independent.
